A decade of turning dreams into reality through impactful higher education.
Higher education for those who once thought they could only dream of it.
Higher education in places once considered unreachable.
Higher education which inspires solutions and action for peace, human dignity, and our common home.
Higher education for the excluded and in crisis contexts is not a dream – it’s a reality. It began in 2016, with making the dream of higher education a reality for 250 refugees across three countries. Since then, JWL has made this dream to a reality for close to 50,000 learners in excluded and crisis-affected communities across 50 countries.
In 2026, JWL celebrates a decade of impactful higher education at the margins. A decade of global collaboration including universities, local and international organisations, learners themselves, along with innovative use of technology, to provide quality higher education which supports individuals and their communities in building paths towards peace, social and environmental justice, and human dignity.
Join us in celebrating 10 years of impactful higher education at the margins!

Experiences, Role and Impact of Blended Learning Higher Education
Mélodie Honen-Delmar, JWL Director Learning & Research, PhD Candidate at University of Geneva
This four-part lecture series presents preliminary key findings from Melodie's doctoral research on blended learning higher education in contexts at the margins. The aim of these sessions is to make the research accessible beyond the thesis itself, opening a space for dialogue, reflection, and exchange so that these findings can contribute to wider conversations on higher education, inclusion, and social impact.
Each session will last approximately one hour and include time for questions and discussion.
These webinars are open to educators, researchers, practitioners, students, and anyone interested in higher education and blended learning at the margins.
